Terry L. Ryan (BSEE ’85) is the manager of Electrical, Electronic, Hybrid & Software Development for the Construction and Forestry Division of John Deere, in Dubuque, Iowa. Terry has worked for the John Deere Construction and Forestry Division for the last 28 years. In his first years with Deere, Terry designed and tested electrical components and software. He has spent the last 20 years leading and growing the electrical and software development community in the division from 10 engineers to over 100 engineers. Over these 20 years, this team has improved in the use of many new tools and processes and brought up to four generations of products to production on up to 12 product lines.
Developing people and leading continued improvement and commonality in both the product and the way it is developed, is Terry’s primary focus. Terry represents the Construction and Forestry Division on Deere and Company’s Enterprise Electronics Engineering Council.
Terry earned a BSEE from Iowa State University in 1985 and an MBA from the University of Iowa in 1991. Terry began his career at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA, where he designed hardware and software from 1986-1990.
