Title: Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science Programs at University of Missouri – Department Chair’s Perspectives

Abstract: The talk will provide an overview of teaching and research activities in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the College of Engineering at University of Missouri. In addition, recent projects on analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits, monolithic sensors wide bandgap semiconductor devices, energy scavenging circuits, and carbon nano-materials will also be presented.

Bio: Dr. Syed Kamrul Islam received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He is currently a Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Missouri. Dr. Islam is leading the research efforts of the Analog VLSI and Devices Research Group at the University of Missouri. His current research interests are: semiconductor devices, high temperature electronics, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, bio-microelectronics, and nanotechnology.
