New IEEE Signal Processing Magazine article
A tutorial paper on straggler mitigation for distributed matrix computations by Aditya, Anindya and Li has appeared in the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, special issue on Distributed, Streaming Learning. It is titled: Straggler-Resistant Distributed Matrix Computation via Coding Theory: Removing a bottleneck in large-scale data processing.
Li Tang defends his Ph.D. and will start a position at Pinterest soon.

Open PhD positions in my group
Prof. Aditya Ramamoorthy’s group at Iowa State University has openings for multiple Ph.D. students starting in Spring 2020 and Fall 2020. Areas of research will broadly include machine learning and coding theory. Specific examples include algorithms for distributed machine learning and coding for distributed computing.
