Research Interests
Currently, we are looking for three or four more PhD students
to join our research group
We will be able to provide financial support to qualified students
(through TA or RA).
Our research areas are:
- 1). Java virtual machine; Garbage collection; Issues on multi-threaded
applications ; static and dynamic analysis/optimization.
- 2). Performance issues in OOP languages (e.g. C++/java)
- 3). Dynamic memory management algorithms; Profile-based allocation
and deallocation algorithms; Operating system support for memory management;
Mapping software algorithms into hardware
- 4). Computer Architecture -- especially, for object-oriented
languages; instruction set for memory management; Architectural support
for Java systems
- 5). Reconfigurable Computing Machines (RCM); VHDL,
design-for-reusability; FPGA; VLSI design
methodologies; Reconfigurable Algorithms; Applications of RCM.
- 6). Channel allocation algorithms in wireless communication systems.
- 7). Internet Architecture: Network Processors, load balance,
redirection, security, Wireless LANs (IEEE 802.11).
- 8). Design and prototyping of large scale digital systems, especially, using VHDL and CPLDs (Complex Programmable Logic Device).
If you know someone interested in above research, please forward
this page to them. We are looking for students who are interested in
coming to Iowa State University and
committed to PhD study at ISU.
