Title: Concurrent dual-band Class-E power amplifier for use in GPRS Transmitters

Abstract: Recently concurrent dual-band transceivers are being investigated to help improve data rates and ease roaming across different network standards. Traditionally, to support different band in a single system, cell phone as an example, will use different circuitry to support different frequency bands and used a switch and corresponding control circuitry to choose which circuit pass to use cognitively according to current operating frequency. Concurrent multi-band RF transceiver support multiple frequency band without any switch and control circuitry, and can support concurrent operation without interfering with each other. This gives us benefits in term of smaller area, higher data rate, etc. In this design, a very compact load network was realized with low power loss, and a balun transformer was used to cancel 2nd-harmonic and thus make concurrent operation at both 900MHz and 1.8GHz possible.
