Title: Optimal Mean-Square Performance for Networked Control Systems with Unreliable Communication
Abstract: We study optimal mean-square (MS) performance for networked control systems (NCS) subject to stochastic link dropout as well as exogenous noise. First we show the MS performance for such systems can be found using a convex optimization. Then based on this we prove that the optimal MS performance controller can be designed by solving a pair convex special synthesis problems, and the overall optimal performance cost is a sum of orthogonal components, one corresponding to each sub-problem. That is, we derive a separation principle analogous to the classical H2 synthesis.
