Title: Keep the Class Meaningful Beyond the First Mid-term
Abstract: In college classes, we usually see the largest drop of interests in the class post the first mid-term. Speaking from my own experience, I noticed that many of my classmates, often times including myself, became disoriented in the ocean of great details: advanced equations, arduous techniques, and abstract theorems. I believe these still are critical components that shall comprise the main body of a course, however, improvement can be made by periodically reminding students with the big pictures, and why we do what we do at this point in the knowledge map.
