Introduction to the protocol architecture of the data link layer, network layer and transport layer for wireless networking. Operation and management of Medium Access Control in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks (WMAN); Recent developments in IEEE 802.11 & 802.16 and Bluetooth; Mobile IP; Mobile TCP; .

Grading

Homework 30% (homework grades will be posted on webCT)
Two exams 40% (1st exam: Oct. 22 ; 2nd exam: Dec. 3 (Dec. 5 for distance students)
Projects 30% (Due: Dec. 1 )

Homework Assignment (1st hw due Sept. 15; 2nd hw due Oct. 1; 3rd hw due Nov. 3; EDE students have 3 extra days )
