Program Director, InfoSphere Streams Development, IBM
Sam Ellis (BSComS ’83) is program director for InfoSphere Streams Development at IBM in Rochester, Minnesota. In prior roles within IBM, he was Software Program Manager for the development of the BlueGene supercomputer, and led Development-Research collaborations on Hypervisor Technologies, Systems Performance, and Operating Systems. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Iowa State University in 1983, and his MBA from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, in 2010. Ellis also is the IBM Campus Relationship Manager for Iowa State University, focusing on recruiting and research collaborations. He is a member of the external advisory boards for the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State, the Software Engineering program at Iowa State, and the University Center Rochester in Minnesota. He is an IBM representative on the Rochester Area Math-Science Partnership, and the ISU MBA Executive Advisory Council. Sam joined the ECpE External Advisory Board at Iowa State in 2010.
