Internet-Scale Event and Attack Generation Environment

Iowa State University's Internet-Scale Event and Attack Generation Environment (ISEAGE) is an Information Systems Security Laboratory (ISSL) with Iowa State's Information Assurance Center.

ISEAGE is a virtual Internet that was created for the purpose of researching, designing, and testing cyber defense mechanisms and is the first facility of its kind at a public university. Unlike computer-based simulations, real attacks are played out against real equipment. The laboratory is used to test key components of the critical infrastructure. It allows researchers and vendors to test their products and services to help defend against cyber attacks.

ISEAGE consists of a 64 node cluster encased within the laboratory. The laboratory is located at Iowa State University's Research Park. ISEAGE was developed by Professor Doug Jacobson.
