April 2009 is packed with several events to help the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering bring our centennial year celebration to a close. The following are centennial events for this month:
April 10, 15, and 20
1 p.m., 3041 ECpE Building Addition
Prominent, nationally known electrical and computer engineering industry and research laboratory professionals will visit campus to discuss the future of engineering, scientific communication, and more. Learn more.

10 a.m., 3041 ECpE Building Addition
Alumnus Donald Linder, who led the team that created the world's first portable phone, brings the first portable phone to campus and talks about his industry experience. Learn more.
April 17
2:30-5 p.m., 2nd floor, Coover Hall
Graduate students in electrical and computer engineering present posters of their research to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the public.
April 18
12-4:30 p.m., Coover Hall and ECpE Building Addition
Undergraduate and graduate students provide fun, interactive demonstrations of electronic equipment and new technologies. See an upper-torso humanoid robot, unmanned aerial vehicles created by students, a stereo system made from Styrofoam and wires, and more. Plus, get free popcorn and win prizes at trivia! Learn more.

5-8:30 p.m., Scheman Building, Iowa State Center
Experience the capstone event celebrating the centennial year and honoring students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have excelled this year. Plus, be entertained by the evening's nationally known special guest entertainer Don McMillan, an electrical engineer-turned-comedian. Learn more.
