Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

General Information

An Overview

Although the academic labs are used for some of your technical classes, they are available during the times when lab classes are not in session.

All but two of the labs have classes meeting in them from time to time.

However, those labs with classes may be the only place to find some of the equipment or software you need. Therefore, it is important to check the lab schedules each semester to know when a specific lab is available.

Times

Because classes will be using the labs during some of these hours, they do not indicate the availability of the specific lab you may need to use.

  • Monday through Thursday: 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Friday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Terminologies

Many times, you may find a lab referred to by the class that it caters to, instead of its physical location in Coover Hall. For example, you may find that another person in the department may refer to a lab as the EE 201 lab. That knowledge may help you understand what class is in the lab, but will do you little good if you do not know that lab is located in room 1208.

For help in understanding which labs are in which rooms, it may be necessary for you to refer back to the lab schedules website for further information. Also, for those new to the computer or electrical engineering programs a map of the building showing where each lab room is located is also available.

Please note the labs are all subject to the policies of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. For any questions as to what those policies are, please refer to the department's lab policies web page.
