ISU has been involved in teaching and research in the VLSI area for about 17 years. At the present time, there is substantial teaching and research in the areas of Analog and Mixed-Signal Design and Digital VLSI CAD. The Cadence design environment is the main tools that is used for those purposes.
The courses in this area are: EE434, EE435, EE465, EE501, EE505, EE507, EE508, EE514, CprE 563, CprE 564, and CprE 566.
Faculty members associated with the VLSI program are professors Robert Weber, Randy Geiger, DeGang Chen and Chris Chu.
We provide tutorials used in EE434 that gradually introduce the student to the Cadence design environment at Iowa State University. All tuturials written at ISU by Imad Abbadi, Saqib Malik and Randy Geiger.
